On 9 October, Kgalema Motlanthe, Deputy President of South Africa, visited the Community of Sant'Egidio, greeted by Marco Impagliazzo, Matteo Zuppi and a delegation the Community.
The Vice President expressed appreciation for the humanitarian work and the work for peace that the Community is doing in Africa and all over the world.
During the interview several issues were addressed, such as the crisis in the Great Lakes region and the fight against AIDS pandemic.
The Vice President also agreed on the need for closer cooperation between South Africa and the Community of Sant'Egidio on the scenarios of peace and development, particularly on the African continent. |
