Saturday the 20th of October, a delegation of the Community of Nakuru, Kenya, distributed about 200 kg of hygienic and sanitary basic stuff (soap, toilet paper, toothpaste and other products for personal hygiene) to the prisoners of the Nakuru Female Prison.
The detention centre in fact does not supply even the basic material in enough quantity and the inmates, like in many African prisons, have to be supported by the resources of their own families, who are rarely able to do that.
The aid, collected among their fellow-citizens, was distributed to 187 women, in a climate of intimate friendship by over 50 young and adult people of the Community who, since some years, regularly visit and support the women who are detained in Nakuru.
