Bishop Sebastian Shah celebrated a liturgy to celebrate the opening of the new house of the Community of Sant'Egidio in Lahore, together with many friends from Lahore and from several different areas and cities of the region.

Thanking for the warm welcome received, in his homily Mgr. Shah has expressed deep appreciation to the Community as "God's gift to Pakistan.".

 He recalled the Community is spread in many cities in the country since 2000 and encouraged its work for the poor and for peace: "In a world where few people think of others and their well-being, the Community of Sant'Egidio can be included between those few who work for the poor and for peace with full devotion. This, - he concluded - is a house of prayer for Pakistan.".
