On October 28, 2011, several tons of food aid reached the town of Loyangalani, on the shore of Lake Turkana, approximately 800 kilometers north of Nairobi.

Donations received so far made possible the recurrent distribution of food aid by the Community of Sant’Egidio of Kenya, jointly with the Consolata Fathers.

In the following days, the mission will outreach to all the small locations close to the lakeshore.

Starting since the beginning of the emergency in July, the distribution of aid (this is the sixth mission) sums up to 60 tons of relief handed out to the people.

In the following weeks, new missions will reach further locations of the same area.
