“Ten years after 9/11, we can say that living together in the spirit of Assisi is the only way towards peace”.
This was the message of Marco Impagliazzo, President of the Community of Sant’Egidio during the conference at Georgetown University in Washington on 16th November, titled “After 9/11, Dialogue, Coexistence and Responsibility in the Spirit of Assisi”.
The public was composed of university teachers and students. Among the numerous participants to the meeting were the Director of the Catholic Studies Program, Robert Lawton, Katherine Marshall and John Borrelli, Special Assistant to the President of Georgetown University.
During the conference, Professor Impagliazzo highlightedJohn Paul II's particular love for the United States, as testified by his numerous visits, inferior only to those he made to Poland.
