In Bukavu, the capital of South Kivu, a meeting of the Communities of Sant'Egidio in the region (Bukavu, Goma, Beni, Butembo) was held in the presence of Marco Impagliazzo, the president of the Community of Sant'Egidio.

The Communities in this part of the Democratic Republic of Congo have reaffirmed their willingness to be a public entity, in the cities and society,  woth the commitment to support the poor and especially the elderly in the fight against all forms of violence.

A special service of the Community in Bukavu is carried out in the minors’ section of the central prison and with the street children who are accompanied in their integration into society. Both the youth of the prison and the street children met the president of the Community.
