A gesture of solidarity and practical support by the Community of Sant'Egidio has come to the poorest Christian families affected by the civil war in Syria.
Armenian Catholic Archbishop of Aleppo mons. Boutros Marayati writes expressing the "heartfelt thanks" from his diocese .
Mons. Marayati recently visited Sant'Egidio in Rome, and took part in the conference "The joy of the Gospel " with bishops from all over the world friends of the Community: “an experience lived of brotherhood, support and hope" as he wrote.
On that occasion he gave testimony to the difficult conditions in which the Christian community in Syria has been experiencing these long years of war, but also the strong belief that the power of prayer can stop the conflict .
The Community of Sant'Egidio, which daily prays for all those who are still kidnapped in Syria, sent to the Armenian Catholic Diocese of Aleppo a contribution as a sign of fraternal solidarity. |
