The Association of relatives of the victims of the attack on July 18, 1994 against the Argentinian JewishMutual Association (AMIA) met with representatives of the Jewish Community of Rome in a ceremony to commemorate the deportation of the Roman Jews and the attack on the synagogue on October 9, 1982 in which young Gaj Stefano Taché died.During the commemoration, it was also recalled the 1994 attack in Buenos Aires, which caused 85 deaths and 200injured people.The ceremony was promoted by the Community of Sant'Egidio which, for many years in Buenos Aires, has kept alive the memory of the victims of the massacre. The Community of Sant'Egidio, together with the Jewish Community of Rome, also promotes the march in Rome to commemorate the deportation of the Roman Jews onOctober 16, 1943, of which this year is the 70th anniversary. Tomorrow the members of the Association of relatives of the victims of the July-1994 attack, for the first time on an official visit to Rome, will meet Pope Francis. |
