Born in 1941 in Paris, after achieving his studies in France , he spent two years in Central African Republic as a responsible of religious teaching in high schools.In 1967 he became pastor of the Reformed Church in France and came back to Africa for his first charge on behalf of the Protestant Church. In Bangui (Central African Republic) he was in charge of youth pastoral and in Congo of the care to Sudanese refugees. Coming back to France he carried on some activities inside the Protestant missionary service and of dialogue among the Churches. In 1999 he has been elected President of the Council of French Protestant Federation and since 2004 he has been President of the Conference of European Churches (CEC).
