An invocation of peace for all the countries and regions of the world where there is war rose up from the basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere, where one hundred bishops from around the world, gathered in Rome for a meeting with the Community of Sant 'Egidio, prayed for the end of all violence, along with many Romans and others.

In his preaching, the Armenian Catholic bishop of Aleppo, Boutros Marayati, testified the pain and the hope for peace of his people. Then they read the names of all countries and regions victims of war and widespread violence, for which the candles were lit, a sign of hope for a peaceful future.
