The Community of Sant'Egidio has decided to contribute to the reconstruction of the social fabric of the city, opening a place of welcome for those that face the greatest difficulties.
Opening a soup kitchen in the heart of the city, a few steps from the place where the evening prayer takes place, seemed the most immediate response. The difficulties in fact ask for a surge of solidarity and the good news is that, at the announcement of the opening of the soup kitchen, many said they were willing to lend a hand.
It was inaugurated a few days ago: the first guests, mostly elderly, were surprised by the beauty of the environment that welcomed them warmly and in a familiar way. |
